arabuko-sokoke forest

This stunning primary forest is about half an hour's drive from The Driftwood. It is the largest piece of indigenous coastal forest remaining in East Africa and is an excellent place for bird watching with its resident ornithologists. There are six bird species that can only be found in this unique forest: the Sokoke Scops Owl, Sokoke Pipit, Amanu Sunbird, Clark's Weaver, East Coast Akalat and the Spotted Ground Thrush.
